Communities: Spaces, Channels & Group Chats

Bring clients together in group conversations.

As well as one-to-one messages, you can create group conversations to bring clients together. This is useful when you have a group of clients working toward the same goal or deadline — for example a challenge or a programme cohort — and you want to communicate with them as a group rather than one by one. These live under the Communities tab in Chat.

Getting here: open Chat and tap the Communities tab.

Your communities

The Communities tab lists the groups you've set up — for example “Premium client space” or “Getting Started.” Tap one to open it, tap the to go in.

Create a community

  1. On the Communities tab (or from Chat), tap the + and choose Create New.

  2. Pick the type you want, then tap Continue:

  • Group Chat — one small group in a single shared conversation. Best for a defined group, like a challenge cohort.

  • Space — a full community that can hold multiple Channels. Best for a larger, ongoing group (for example a “Premium client space”).

  • Channel — a topic-focused thread inside a Space (for example nutrition, wins or general).

In short: Group Chat = one small group, one conversation. Space = a community that can hold multiple Channels. Channel = a topic thread inside a Space.

  1. Give your community a name when you set it up. You can edit the name later, too.

  2. Add members from your client list — select the clients you want in the community.

Manage a community

As your group evolves you can change a community — use the “…” on a community, category or channel for its options:

  • Rename — edit the community's name any time.

  • Members — add or remove clients from your client list.

  • Channel permissions — set a channel to read-only (an announcement channel members can only read) or leave it open for everyone to post. This is what decides whether clients can post in a given channel.

Message a community with Que

Just like messaging a client, you can ask Que to post to a community for you — tell Que in the chat (for example “Message my Premium client space…”) and it will send it to the group.

To confirm with dev:

  • The exact steps to edit a community, set a channel to read-only / announcement, and add or remove members.

  • Whether a coach can delete or archive a community, and what the “…” menu contains.
