Log Your Food

Log Your Food

Every way to add what you've eaten — and how to edit or remove it afterwards.

Getting here: on the Fuel screen, tap the + (top-right of Today's Log) to open the Log Fuel menu.

Six ways to log (the Log Fuel menu)

The Log Fuel sheet gives you six options:

  • Describe fuel — type or say what you ate in plain language.

  • Import fuel — add a food photo from your Photos or Files.

  • Search fuel — look it up in the food database.

  • Capture fuel — use your camera (meal photo, barcode or nutrition label).

  • Custom fuel — create your own food with your own values.

  • Hydration — log water and drinks (see Log Hydration).

Powered by Areela: Describe, Capture and Import all use Areela to recognise your food and fill in the details, so logging is quick.

Describe fuel (type or talk)

  1. Tap Describe fuel.

  2. On “What are you eating?” either type what you had in plain language (e.g. “2 eggs, toast with butter, and a cappuccino”) or tap the purple mic to say it out loud.

  3. Tap Continue. Areela works out the foods and shows a Results list — adjust the quantity on any item, use Edit / Remove, then tap Add to log.

  2. Type a food into Search foods and tick the ones you want (results show calories and serving).

  3. Tap Select and Adjust, set quantities, then Add to log.

My Foods & custom: switch to the My Foods tab for foods you've saved, or tap the + (top-right) to create a new one — see Custom fuel below.

Custom fuel (create a food)

  2. Tap the camera tile to add a photo, then fill in Serving Size and Metric (use the qty dropdown for the unit), an optional Brand name, and Categories (e.g. Snacks, Bread & Wheat).

  3. The Fat / Carbs / Protein and kcal ring update as you go. Tap Done — it's saved under My Foods for next time.

Import fuel

Import fuel will let you bring in a food photo straight from your Photos or Files. Review what Areela detected, then add it to your log.

Once a food is in Today's Log, tap it to expand the card. You'll see Edit (change the food or its quantity/portion) and Remove (delete it from the day). Tap View Today's Log to see everything you've logged.
