What Happens After the Learning Phase

Turning the base program into a plan that's personal to your client.

The base program isn't the finished article — it's the starting point. Its real job is to carry the client through the learning phase, when the app gathers data on how they train, eat, recover and respond. Once that phase ends, you put all of it to work.

The client just has "a program"

"Base program" is coach-side language. Your client never sees that term — to them, they simply have a program. Think of the base program as the plan you hand them to get started and to power the learning phase; everything that follows just makes that same program better.

The program stays — it gets personalised

When the learning phase ends, the client doesn't switch to a brand-new program. They stay on the same program, and you personalise and adapt it using what the learning phase revealed — their response patterns, habits and wearable data — so it's shaped around the individual and pointed squarely at their goal.

You don't have to work it out alone. Que surfaces recommendations (the first arrive around day eight, as the learning phase completes) telling you what to adjust and why. Que does the groundwork; you make the call and apply the changes.

Where to go from here

From this point, there are two ways to shape the client's program — and you can mix both. Whichever you choose, the changes are made to the client's own program in their profile, not the base program back in your library.

1. Adjust it yourself. Make the changes directly on the client's program, using Que's recommendations as your guide — adjusting the Activities, Fuel and Journal entries. Step-by-step in View and adjust a client's program.

2. Let Que do it for you. Hand the work to Que and let it apply its recommendations for you. See Let Que adapt a client's program.

For how Que produces its recommendations in the first place, see Introducing: Que and its recommendations.
